FOCUS: THE LIGHT REMAINS

I had a dream.

I ran in the forest at the speed of light intently focused on running well. I was both in and with the light.

I sped down a dirt hill in preparation for the upcoming curve. In the shadows near the curve was a stagnant man smoking a cigarette. He was in the darkness with sour disdain on his face. I passed him. Frightened by the light, the cig dropped. He became vengeful and chased me down the hill.

I noticed him but stayed focused on the race.

The speed of the light was much faster than the pace of darkness. I was halfway around the curve before he started on it. As I closed the curve, I yelled “I love you brother!”

That frightened him even more. He turned around and ran back into the woods with me now chasing him to share the light.

The end.

Running well means letting my light shine. Sharing my gifts. Cultivating the land I’ve been given. Darkness persecutes what it can not conquer. The light.

Hmm. Is this why the stagnant target me when I am running well? Yes, because light forces darkness to reveal the hidden.

They know not what they do. But, I see. They want to remain in the shadows. As long as I am in the room, they are exposed. Not by force. By presence.

It’s tempting to take it personally. To dim my light. To hide just like them. I resist. Staying focused. Refusing to look to the left or the right. Attacks are a part of the assignment.

I continue to honor opportunities to do good in the presence of my enemies. And, for my enemies.

When I do this, darkness flees. The light remains.
